CREDIT APPROVING YOUR CUSTOMERS  

  • ALL CUSTOMERS MUST BE OVER THE AGE OF 18 AND UNDER THE AGE OF 75 , I.E. BORN AFTER 1935. IF THEY ARE BORN BETWEEN 1935 AND 1930 GET A SUPERVISOR ON THE FONE TO SPEAK TO THEM, WE MAY ALLOW IT. BUT BEFORE 1930 , ARE NOT ALLOWED!!!

  • ALL DETAILS MUST BE FILLED IN, OTHERWISE THE APPLICATION CANNOT BE CREDIT CHECKED.

  • DO NOT PUT A MOBILE NUMBER IN THE SECTION WHERE THE HOME NUMBER GOES. IF NEED BE , SIMPLY PROVIDE THE NEXT OF KINS HOME NUMBER.

  • DO NOT PUT A MOBILE NUMBER IN THE WORK NUMBER FIELD. IF THEY CANNOT PROVIDE A WORK NUMBER , CHECK YELLOW PAGES OR SEE A SUPERVISOR.

  • A lot of contracts can be more solid if these types of requirements are fulfilled at point of sale, when they are most enthusiastic about their purchase.

  • D2's, we all hate these , we work so hard to get a lead and then it all goes up the creek without a paddle. This can occur from the follwing:-

    • Incorrect spelling of names and addresses

    • If they have been married or divorced you need their details on their license!!!

    • If you miss the applicants middle name it will D2 or D1.

    • Ask your customer if they have any “mystery debts” and if they have a bad credit rating , put the phone in someone elses name.

    • Also the maximum plan you can ever sell to someone working less than 20 hrs per week, regardless of credit card is $49 per month, if you exceed this it will only cause disappointment.

    • These customers are also only going to get approved for one service so don't offer them a double deal.

  • PENSIONERS - should be informed that they are required to go direct debit every single time!!!

  • SELF EMPLOYED – need to provide an ABN , it must be a taxable income!!! Make sure you have their correct trading name , if they are a sole trader, it is their full name, if they are a partnership , we need to know, if they trade under another name we need to know.

  • HOME DUTIES - these customers have 2 avenues , they must go direct debit from credit card, or their partner is working full time and has done for 6 months or more and they are paying off their own home.

  • NON AUSTRALIAN RESIDENTS - require proof of Visa for the next 2 yrs and a passport and/or direct debit credit card.

  • MOBILE PHONE NUMBERS IN THE WORK NUMBER FIELD - If a customer provides a mobile phone number as a work number they will be referred and required to provide proof of employment so don't do it!!!!

  • SELF FUNDED RETIREES - Direct debit or they may require proof of income, i.e. very personal items such as bank statements or bas statements.
