WHO MEETS THE CREDIT CRITERIA
Sim plus have a ‘Credit Criteria' that all applicants must pass to get their mobile phone. This is a list of typical case studies and what they must do to meet the credit criteria. Remember, in any case if you are unsure, GET A SUPERVISOR!!!
-
THE BASIC RULE IS:-Sim plus states that for a customer to be approved, they must be working more than 20 hrs a week and have been doing so for preferably 24 months OR they must direct debit from a credit card. If the customer is not the credit card holder, then you must speak to the credit card older before taking down their details. Remember even those who apply with a credit card have 10 days in which to pay their bill before it will direct debit from their credit card.
-
EXCEPTIONS TO THE RULE ARE AS FOLLOWS:-The customer must be in a living situation with their current partner, i.e. they must be married or de-facto. Their partner must be working full time and or own their own house. If this is the case you must get a supervisor to validate it.
-
UNEMPLOYED:-DO NOT WASTE ANYONES TIME INCLUDING YOURS! Have never and will never be approved. Which means that if you state New Start Allowance? IT WILL BE DECLINED. Even if they have only been out of work that day or a week or two weeks, you will simply have to call them back or get them to call you back when they get another job.
-
STUDENTS:-Students will always need to go direct debit credit card. They are a special criteria, we need to call sim plus in regards to.
-
WORKING UNDER 20 HRS PER WEEK: -People in a very low hour casual or part time positions need to go direct debit credit card to meet the criteria. (Home Owners may be considered)
-
DISABILITY PENSIONS:-These can be quite tricky as some people have mental disabilities in which case they are NOT eligible. In order for these customers to go thru you need to ask them if it is a physical or mental disability, and if they are in charge of their own finances, or if they have a carer who handles that side of it , in which case you will require the carers approval. Must go direct debit to meet the criteria.
-
RETIRED - ON A PENSION:-This will include the following, aged pension, war veterans pension, military pension, widows pension, carers pension etc. Must go direct debit by credit card. (Home Owners may be considered)
-
RETIRED – SELF FUNDED/SUPERANNUATE: -These people are not necessarily pensioners. They will usually have an income sourced or generated by other investments or their superannuation. While people have been accepted in this circumstance it is still recommended. ANYONE who signs up with a credit card is more likely to be approved. Investments include: Superannuation, Shares, Rental Properties,
“Self Funded Retiree's do not rely on their Pension (If any) for their main source of Income”
-
HOME DUTIES:-These people usually have a partner who is working. So you have four options 1. Go direct debit via credit card. 2. Put the phone in the partners' name. 3. Ask them for their partners work details and put that in the notes field under the checklist at the end of the application. You will need the trading name of their employer, the employers phone number, how long they have been working there for and what position they fill. 4. If their name is on the deed of the house they own or are paying off. In any case you will need a supervisor to approve it.
